clayA Poem by asperatus_
my shadow has always been a heartbeat behind
i stand here i stand before you i stand in silence what has even been whole, flawless? wrinkled baby feet never having left footprints can't retrace our steps back to awe, to newness steps only going forward towards the unknown painted with the bias of what we know how can i forgive haven't i rewritten my history to justify fear pain midnight tears the jealous beast that has taken residency in my gut scratching and roaring eyes open but seeing my universe, not the universe as it exists the universe we stumble through, sometimes colliding with one another those collisions the force of them reveal how pliable we are we mold into love we mold into anger we mold into ourselves
