I failed them

I failed them

A Story by Asmi Bhattacharya
"

For every single time you were convinced that you were not enough.

"
In a very cliche world,I was told that "Its your life and you can live it any way you want to".
But nobody ever mentioned the 'rules'.
The rules you were expected to follow at each step.
There were branched paths.
A mayhem of people choosing their own kind.
They knew what they wanted.
Oh,they were so sure.
I stood there wondering which one of these paths would I track my life into.
I was rattled, scared, unsure as they spoke of
 their 'figured out life'.
For I din't have a 'plan'
I din't know where I was headed.
I din't know if it was ,what they call,'right' or 'wrong'.
But I walked along and am still walking.
Battling with a world that I fail to make sense to along the way.
Maybe someday I'll reach a place where I can inspire lives or maybe NOT.
Maybe someday I'll be a 'success' or maybe NOT.
Maybe someday I'll have my own 'story-of-enlightenment' to share or maybe NOT.
But until then,
this confused, miserable, terribly failed and ' not-so-figured-out' state seems just fine.

You are with most of us - life is a muddle through! Well done Asmi - you have written a very honest story of our hopes and fears for the future. I'm nearing the other end of the story where you spend more time looking back!
If you have time would you look at my story 'the letter'. By the way my wife and i had quite an exciting adventure in Bangalore many years ago which i should write up!
