My Sky

I close my eyes.

The faint silence is ringing in my ears.

A light breeze brushes the back of my neck and a chill runs down my spine.

I'm left with goosebumps.

My body is longing for warmth but there's nothing.

I am alone.

I am surrounded by nature, by people, by everything,

But I am still alone.

I take comfort in the sky.

I know that it will always be there.

It's the only thing I like that is constantly changing.

I open my eyes.

The deep bright sunset warms my veins.

Shades of orange and pink tint my skin.

A light breeze combs through my hair and goosebumps cover my body once again.

I am no longer alone.
