Our Laughter

My first attempt at a Zejel. Thanks to MsJewel for sharing her expertise.

All the laughter you bring to my heart

All the joys in my life you impart

Your gift is a rare form of art

 

The rest of the world disappears

And angels of joy hover near

Our troubles seem nothing to fear

For a moment in time they depart

 

For the sound of your laugh in reply

Makes me laugh in response ‘til I’m high

And then we both have to stop with a sigh

As we recall we are now worlds apart

 

And then you evoke a time from before

And we laugh at the thought even more

I know why it is you I adore

Our hearts will in truth never part

Because I really don't know anything at all about poetry and MsJewel was kind enough to publish the requirements. Just thought I'd give it a try.

Knowing is not the same as learning. You write, correct? Write from the heart.

Well I do ... as you might expect ... but I think learning leads to knowing. And I'm interested in learning from the people on this site that are better educated. Most of the time I just write from the heart. Sometimes its fun to challenge myself to try something different.

Perhaps you and I have different definitions for learning & knowing. I think just the opposite. Knowing is to standing as learning is to swimming.

I love this! The last line is the perfect ending to this beautiful love song. You rocked this form my friend. Aren't forms fun? I say that - and then I struggle over them. This really is lovely!

Wow! Recently, I'm back to making different forms of poetry which I used to do before, Star.
This is superb. I want to try also this Zejel form. Wish I could make one this day.

Going back to your poem, I like the concept too much. Laughter makes the heart younger. LOL. Always be with someone who makes you smile and laugh. =)
