A Poem by asialworgan
and suddenly I realised.
we are on a beach
tiny grains of sand
surrounded by others
just like us

I was attracted to this because I wanted to understand more about how other people percieve humanity.
It was short, succint, and almost anecdotal.
It carried the message across nicely, and the image of the beach is quite calming and earthly. As opposed to "sands in a desert", which has a more spiritual tone.
I find it funny, that if you were to look deeply at sand- perhaps through a microscope- you would see that every grain of sand is very unique.
I enjoyed this, thank you for posting.

I thought that too after I wrote this, but I suppose that exemplifies human nature only more accurately. We may all be human with skin and bone and lips, but when you scrutinise us individually, we are most certainly not all the same. This short prose was meant to be both simplistic and pretty reductionist.
Thank you.
