Winds Of the Night

Winds Of the Night

A Poem by Ashleyx

With the wind of the night

These streets come alive

Our thoughts take hold of their favorite star

They promise no return unless the sun should arrive

Our colors, our patterns, our skins and our shades

Are reveling in the sounds this city has made

This greying old moon can barley light our way

So we’ll flash and strobe like those stars who’ve fled

He moves

She shakes

I stop

We fall

The sun announces her arrival with a watercolor show

Our stars return those thoughts with a small fee of a crash

The ecstasy of our affair is all too regrettable

No promises of redemption, this lesson is forgettable

I am not sure but is this poem about one night of adultery.I think it is,and in that case I find the subject to be nothing unique but I find the way you wrote about it to be very intriguing

Who wouldn't ride on the wings of night? The wind would surely take them wherever they wanted to go. Sweet and slightly sensual your poem is. Keep writing.

hmm, Very interesting, and very good.
I liked the line "The ectasy of our affair"
now to mean that could mean and addictive relationship,
or a relationship in a somewhat transe state, either way this
was good. [=
