SUFFERING UNDUE!

SUFFERING UNDUE!

A Poem by Asra Hakak
"

No one in this world can starve and die. One who does, had died much before then.

"
I know a cruel story, let me tell it to you.
A tragic tale of a suffering undue

little girl left by the side of the road lonely walking, searching for home with shoes that don't lace up just right ,
She wore blisters that could be kept out of sight.

The knots in her hair made everyone look away.
No one cared she was alone that day ;

maybe even the previous day
and most probably she was going to be the same the coming day

Not one soul reached out with a helping hand.
She was force fed the ways of the world , but would never understand.

when she finally found her way to a bit of shelter,
She was turned away now all she had was a sweater.

she laid down in an alley and pulled her chin down tight to her chest.
She somehow managed to block out the cold wind, but was not able to rest.

Her soul died before it ever got the chance to live ,
she was left shattered with a heart that can never believe or forgive.

A true story made into a poem! My eyes really welled up. And that is how a true writer should be. Before checking the profile, I guessed you are an Indian. And yeah, 'twas true. It is one of a kind who recognizes another of the same group. Your thoughts and way of writing tell that you are born in the land of Mahatma Gandhi. Happy to see a wonderful and great poem. I always like poets who express the problems of others, rather than speaking about rainbows and rains!

Thank you for this wonderful creation and please let me know when you write another work!

With best wishes & love,
Sandra Nair.

A sad tale you have said. But it needs more cover to tell this tale like What and Why? This is what I felt in when you told this poem. I hope you don't mind the criticisms
