IT'S A CELL PHONE WORLD

IT'S A CELL PHONE WORLD

A Poem by Asra Hakak
"

when these things appeared first they seemed so cool but eventually somewhere somehow they ruined the taste of life.

"
why aren't we capable of love anymore?
why don't you search it on Google chrome?

or may be the answer lies beneath your hand .
on Facebook and Twitter and instagram.

the grass seems much greener in next persons yard
when you search for validation within your sim card

and the phone calls saying sweet dreams this night
have been replaced by text messages reading good night

the great get togethers of childhood friend groups
have been confined to the social media chat groups

first dates used to be of such innocent form
now it's texting off shameful tinder that's turned into norm

our generation has lost the value of deep conversation that ignited warmth of love within
unfortunately short talk is the new in

so if you're feeling a bit empty and you are feeling alone
look up from your screen
and put down your phone

Technology is good for a lot of things but people still need people as well!
yeah, i totally agree. if you werent born in the eighties, but after, the subtle art of finding friends by triangulation via phone calls to mothers and heresay is a dead practice. way to stick to the script and keep within the rhyme scheme. a plus

Hahaha..No need to thank. :')
I agree with your logic. I miss the old world. Dating. Some dancing, talking and truly knowing another person. Even with friendship. Few phone calls and family get together.
"so if you're feeling a bit empty and you are feeling alone
look up from your screen
and put down your phone"
Great wisdom in the excellent poetry.

You are welcome.
Oh my gosh this is so beautiful! And so full of truth. I love poems like this one, poems that send out a message that should be heard everywhere. If you would like I do have some advice, you should use capital letters, and this part " or may be(isn't it -maybe-) the answer".
Other than that this is great. I think exactly like this. I'm 18 and up to the date I haven't had a cellphone, I see no need for it yet. My cousin is ten and she has had like three cellphones. She is my neighbor and prefers to chat with me in Facebook. Of course I am in my laptop writing, and my mother gives me a limit of three hours per day of using it, ugh so unfair, but she is right.
Loved it, every line. Thanks for sharing!
