Simply Ponder

Simply Ponder

A Poem by ASHRITH HARITH
"

(A)Wakening call to all counterparts

"

I often ponder,

Where I have lost it;

Why I had to lose it

That which completes me

That which defines my existence

Have I lost it for my parents’ sake?

Or my dear pals’ sake?

Or my own?

I know who I am

But why am I ;

Shy of myself ?

Why burgundy over simple blue?

Why do I see pleasure in smoke

Whence I know; to certainty

The flavour of home food

Why the so called fun?

When I know it just is not? Not just either!

A race to gain attraction,

To be praised,

Felt jealous of.

This is my coat of maturity

That conceals the rag of hypocrisy

And it is not these sentences that are broken,

Thoughts that are

I ponder,

Simply ponder

Only ponder

Why should I change?

Why chose ME and MINE over appraisal?

Socially being or being social:

A tough choice to make

I take all the credentials

Feather them on my crown,

That crown that belongs to me

The self I am not.

I ponder,

Ponder,

Simply ponder.
