The hunter

The hunter

A Poem by ashlyn vik

The wave of muscles ripple underneith the tiger's skin

like water in the sea

as she carefully stalks her prey

her orange eyes blaze

like fire dancing in the moonlight

as she pinpoints the target.

with a flick of her tail

she crouches down;

the rich dark soil still held the aroma of rain

from the previous day.

Her prey munches on grass

in blissful ignorance.

the tiger steps forward

and like a bird

she soars through the air

she's a lightning bolt

quick and deadly

a flash of her canines end the life of her prey.
