The Dungeon

The Dungeon

A Poem by ashleymarie

The air is moist
There is a sticky slime on the cinder block walls
Tallies are carved in them
There are chains drilled into them
Windows do not seem to exist

And then you realize

You're trapped in your own dungeon
You're are completely alone
Except for the demons there to haunt you
To survive you have fend them off yourself
You need to get rid of them

Your back is against the wall
You have one option-
Make them disappear. For good.
    And if you bail
    You're trapped
    'Til excruciating death

"You're trapped in your own dungeon
You're are completely alone
Except for the demons there to haunt you"
