Waiting

Waiting

A Poem by ashleymarie

She sits there
Almost like she's waiting for something
People pass by
Their attention is drawn towards her
She can feel the judgment in their eyes
Although she never looks up.

She's a loner.
An outcast.
Not many are willing to be caught with her
But she doesn't know any different
She remains content
On the outside.

But on the inside
She is actually waiting
Waiting for somebody, anybody, to give her a chance

On the inside she screams
She is dying to show who she can really be
Somebody
Give her a chance

On the inside
She cries everyday
Feeling as if she cannot escape the pain
Needing one person to give her a chance

On the outside

She smiles

She waves

She refuses to show the pain.

This is amazing! I love the lines "Their attention is drawn towards her ... although she never looks up." The repetition of "on the inside" and the contrast to her "on the outside" is an great show of voice. Absolutely a great piece.

Thank you so much for the review!
Great poem and great detail... a lot of people have to bury and hide the way they really feel because we don't want people to know our pain by simply looking our way. I understand how you feel... you have so much love to offer... so much passion in your heart and just waiting for the chance to prove that. You did an awesome job expressing that passion... your day will come :)
