The Silence

The Silence

A Poem by ashleymarie

The snow may lie on the ground
As if I could sit here and lay- No words, no sound
No worries
No need to hurry

But for some reason, I cannot enjoy the given silence
It's like my peace has been trapped in some odd fence
I attempt to escape
But it seems to be my fate

I can't run, nor hide
I can't pretend to own pride
I'm uncertain
So I hide behind the curtains

There is no hope for me
       For hopelessness is my specialty.

Thank you.
This is good, this is really relateable. You can really feel the isolation in this poem. These are my favorite lines . '
