Loves Me, Not

This is a poem about love and heart aches. I wrote it based on a fictional couple from a story that I am writing. When two people are destined to be soul mates, but not destined to be together.

A love so deep in all its right,
if ever existed, Soul Mate would best describe it.
The truth beyond the lies,
The happiness that shined through.
A smile brought out by the simplist of words.
Butterflies created without even trying.
A connection so strong, the chemistry so exact.
A comfort that fills your soul,
The thread that repairs your heart.
Like a two-way mirror; the secret behind the walls.
A hate that kinders in a blink of an eye.
A glass half full, not simply to become half empty, but instead... Poured out.
Pain Unmeasurable, creating numbness in its place.
The anger grows as the hurt becomes a blindfold.
Your mind, useless, masked by the lies of love, strung out by your heart.
The Blades never dull as the wounds get deeper.
A mere puppet in your game, my strings are pulled for your amusement.
Fear of losing what once was; my heart steady beats for this game.
The ounce of what's left in me, screams out my building hate for you;
Begging... To hear your love for me.
Gentle whispers left unheard.
A fallen tree with no sound, But the blood and pain keeps flowing.
Manipulating those around you; the pawns in your created reality.
Letting go becomes more simple although curiousity is slowing me down.
To question, 'why', is so easy,... The answer remaining unknown.
The lies are true, The truth is made of lies.
Gasonline poured all around while the unlit match is held in my hands.
The bridge we slowly built together, begins to burn.
The fire burns brighter; the bond steady shrinking.
Like Peeling peddles from a flower,
The question keeps repeating.
Answers still uknown; Bridge still depleating.
As true as a lie, The Love Still in question.
Loves Me, Loves Me Not;
The flower now bare and empty.
