Stay.

Stay.

A Poem by Ashley Simonne

I want someone to hold my hands,

But not just to keep them warm.

I want them to hold on and stay,

Give me a place to call home.

I want to be a precious keepsake,

Not a usable and easily disposable girl.

I want someone to kiss me and mean it,

And take me all around the world.

I think one day I’ll find someone

That knows me better than I know myself.

And helps pick up all the pieces,

To prove to me there really is beauty left.

I wont stop being the girl I am,

I don’t think I even can.

I know I’m not same but not different,

One day I’ll be loved madly by the perfect man.

So I’ll walk away from my mistakes

And keep my dreams alive.

I know I have the potential

To love someone along with myself until they day I die.

I think you deserve it, and you are entitled to this freedom within a love that does not complicate or demean you in any respect. It's beautifully written and shows a lot of character written on and in between the lines, curiously!! It's curious to me because there are poems that speak of love and then there are "poems" that come straight from the heart as if there was no intention of it going anywhere BUT to paper for you AND us to enjoy it!! Though you have been through a lot already, you are selfless and gorgeous in many... what seems obvious.... many ways!! xoxo -Mark
