Drowning.

Drowning.

A Poem by Ashley Simonne

My mind is blurry
With the tears that paint my world.
I’m running so fast, I’m flying
Don’t mistake me for an angel, I’m just a broken girl.

My lips taste of the bitter lies
And the remnants of broken promises.
It’s hard to breathe as I’m drowning
Happiness lies right above the surface.

I’ll fight harder than I ever have,
To surface and breathe once more.
For so long my head of stone has drowned me,
Pretty soon I’ll be so far down, I’ll hit Earth’s core.

I think this is very inspiring! I think you use excellent imagery and I love the way you make cliché turn into something unique! I really enjoyed reading this and so did my friend, great work! :)
