SmudgesA Poem by ashweejuneWritten in 2008Mascara and tears stream
down her face Looking in his eyes, she
feels out of place The feeling of love, seems to
have been tucked in for bed tonight Nothing to be done, nothing
to say Interlocking hands, separate
with pain The day he left, the clouds
cried of rain He told her he’d figure
things out Badly broken, her ears
wouldn't hear Torn and afraid, she
remained in fear Desperately trying to let
love in Instead, only razors zipped
across her skin Losing him would tear her apart No longer hers, death be her
heart Thinking of something that
will make her realize Everything he said, was
true, and not lies Reaching out to touch her
arm Neither abuse nor violence
would he bring upon her Longing for the day to go
back to love as they were. Forever and ever, she'll always
care for him Hand
and hand, it is the war they finally won. © 2011 ashweejune |
