For My People

Written in 9th Grade for a "For My People" essay

For my people who have been in love,

Never let go of that feeling,

Never forget the memories,

Always let them stay alive inside of your heart

 

For my people who have lost the love of their life

Do not sit and weep for your loss

Get out of your house

Be with people who make you happy

If you love someone, let them free

If you don’t see them again, it was meant to be,

But if one day they come back, you know in your heart

They truly love you

 

For my people who are depressed and suicidal

Wanting to leave your life

For someone else to clean up

Don’t think of dying, it’s not going to help anyone

Realize what you have

And never let that go

 

Let a new beginning, began

Let another sight, be seen

Let another voice, be heard
