Child abuse

The horrors of hitting a child.

The swing of a fist,
The scream of a girl,
The wail of sirens,
The sobs at a funeral.
She died for every child
abused by a parent.
She died for every child
who ever let a tear fall.
She died for every child
struggling to satisfy a parent.
But in the long run
She died to prove a point;
Child abuse is murder
That just hasn't happened yet.

This was my first poem, and I'm no poet. Written about...Two, three years prior?
