This One's For You

A poem about being in a healthy relationship and being in love.

I deserve better than you

You say

Though I know how you could think that

As you do not see yourself as I do

I have not met one person who treats me with as much care as you

Someone who wants me as safe and happy as you

No one I have met has ever held a candle to you

And because of that I’m sure no one ever will

You just can’t be replaced

Maybe someone else like you exists

But it would take a lifetime to find them

And they would still never hold a candle to you
