Chasing the clock

Chasing the clock

A Poem by Ashley Rachelle
"

This is something I threw together really fast, I use metaphors talking about a relationship that is never ending, on and off, and still not happy.

"
The ticking
The toc-ing
The flipping
The flopping
Is all I can think of

Time keeps running
Choices keep changing
And I am still waiting

The hands on the clock go round and round
Wont settle, Wont slow down
Put your hands up, we are on a ride
One that wont stop, only collides

Just choose already!
I scream down the hill
The coaster flies up
Hitting the wind with a chill

You're on one coaster
And I another
Our paths are different
But still together

Same ride
Same ending
Different cars
And times

The path is laying in front
But you control
How fast, Which way
Is what you hold

The keeper is you
Of this confusion
Time to choose
Real or illusion

I can't wait anymore
The rides come to a stop
The clock still mocks me
With a tick and a toc

This is a rough sketch I just made, just trying something new with metaphors
