Requiem

Requiem

A Poem by Ashesh
"

Death is the final answer to everything.

"
Too many thoughts to imprison,

For my convulsive mind

Cannot live suffocating,

With the twirl of bereavement

I never could consent to their fallacy

The reasons that could never be comprehend

Now I wish to cease this cursed reality

And purge my soul to the infinite bliss

So no chimes of sorrow,

Would ever reclaim me.

This poem speaks volumes of the intensity of loss and does so with great efficiency over so few lines.

What strikes me most about this poem is the sense of confusion. This poem seems to focus on that more than the more obvious theme of pain, which has perhaps been thoroughly tapped as a source of poetic inspiration by so many others. This is particularly apparent when bereavement is described as a 'twirl' which really captures the disordered thoughts someone may well experience in their loss.

To me there seems to be two clear themes in this poem. The first is one that addresses the immediate sense of loss whilst the second is what appears to be a hopelessness that has infected the narrator. In this we can see the enormous depth of loss and that perhaps there is nothing that can be done to ever recover without leaving 'this cursed reality'.

I found this poem interesting because of the impact it had despite its size.

You can feel the sadness and despair so vividly in this... The last stanza is haunting. Sometimes death does seem like the answer to everything. Infinite bliss in the fact that there is nothing left. But there's always reason to stay too.

I am both sad and happy about this piece. I am sad because the writer believes that there will be "...infinite bliss." I am also happy because the writer believes that there will be "...infinite bliss" once it's all over. Reasons to be cheerful, either way. Good job!

It's beauty is in it's brevity.

Beautiful yet emotions of distress well expressed. I wouldn't say this was a easy poem to write. It would have needed a lot of time and thought to make this poem. You have wrote this perfectly and I can't complain about it at all.

Profound immersion in misery~ the pain inside this poem breathes like a separate entity~potent and deeply moving~
