Am I really that girl

Am I really that girl

A Poem by Summer Mendez

You tell me I'm the girl of your dreams.

Though I think you should know,

The girl of your dreams has dreams of her own.

And a mind that never lies still,

Like waves crashing on a beach.

LOVED IT

Posted 15 Years Ago

Hey, I loved this poem. In 5 lines you say so much so well, and that really takes some skill, I thought it was perfect.
How well do we really know someone, even someone we 'love' or have known for years? Your words made me think of the person she is addressing and what he (i guess he) is really about. Perhaps he treats her badly, or maybe his small-town lifestyle just angers her or even makes her pity him...

I'm just thinking of all the possible readings that I see through your words... Sorry for the ramble, this is my favourite read of the day. Thankyou for sharing!
