D(R)YING RIVERS OF IMAGINATION

D(R)YING RIVERS OF IMAGINATION

A Poem by Ayesha Chatterjee

Demons and fireflies -

  Interplaying the twilight breeze,

Azure horizons tell tales:

  Of bygone trees.

Wisps of the dying spectrum,

  Light strands of auburn hair;

He reaches out to touch

  The nothingness of the air...

Raw emotions

  Breathe out fire;

Fate rings out like

  Notes from a lyre.

Green liquid

  And stark reality,

Rips the soul

  Of it's fertility.
