The Affair

The Affair

A Poem by Ashley

We met from across the room
You held me in your arms
Dancing under a silver moon
The night held many charms
Our love approached its peak
At the climax of the song
And though we didn’t speak
I knew nothing could be wrong
But fast away you turned
To search out someone new
My soul within me burned
Was there life away from you?
Now with my every heart beat
I wait until our eyes meet.
