Sleep And Sound

Sleep And Sound

A Poem by ashley emma
"

A poem written whilst trying to get to drift off and therefore not exactly perfect but it definitely helped me get to sleep....eventually

"
The gentile sway
Over and over
A subtlety of motion
Mind wanders

Colours leaked
Fantasies flow
Eventually blocking
A distant glow

Mind stops racing
Heart slows down
Breathing steadies
Sleep and sound

A splendid read and write. Thank you for penning...:)

Interesting piece. It actually gives the feel of drifting away because it isn't completely coherent, as it would be if you were wide awake. At the same time, it doesn't stray too far from the main line of thought. Overall, I think it is a very cute depiction of something we all experience on a daily basis. The rhymes are judiciously used and create a gentle see-sawing flow...like rocking a cradle. Nicely done! :)
