Anchor

Anchor

A Poem by Ash Hamilton Smith

Fell on my face again, doesn't feel much different from the last time I was here, to be sincere. I feel like I'm falling behind from the rest of the pack, and I'm sure I'll catch up but I might need some help this time. And honestly, if I'm being honest with myself, I think I'm wearing thin, I'm at the end of my rope. All these trials and tribulations are starting to get to me, and all the stress and complications are surrounding me.

But I know that you'll always be there for me, right where I need you to be. So I'll be just fine, push those doubts right out of my mind.
And I know that if I'm ever sinking, under all the pressure, looking for an answer, I can count on you to be my anchor.
