Exhale

Exhale

A Poem by Ashley Amigoni

Instead, a wind that dies

a curtain stilled, it lays, it lies

Instead, a coffee mug gone cold

a ticking clock, no days, it hides

I sit alone, I feed my mind

with empty halls, with empty sighs

You're best at home, you heed my call

with answered prayers, with soft withdraw

Instead, an empty chair that sinks

a warming touch, it chills, it blinds

Instead, a foreign feel unfelt

a memory of pains, it drains

I fall unknown, I kill my pride

with desperate words, with belittled lies

You're far from thrown, you don't deny

with forgotton love, with dead eyes

This is a good poem with a nice flow. It reminds me of a lover once
being there, but now gone. I wish you well with the rest of your work..AD
