No Different

No Different

A Poem by Ashley Amigoni
"

A villanelle.

"

I murmur the nonsense that no one hears

Unwilling victims in a painful charade

Clenched fist vernacular preys upon fears

I don't care if my midnight nears

Cause time will show who decided to stay

I murmur the nonsense that no one hears

It has thrown up walls for many years

A chase, a hunt for companions in flight

Clenched fist vernacular preys upon fears

Smiling in falsity is trying with peers

Stretch face bubble gum snapping parade

I murmur the nonsense that no one hears

You cannot blame me for your bleeding ears

That broken record rain reaches under umbrellas

Clenched fist vernacular preys upon fears

Teach me moving music that holds and endears

I cannot hold onto my pillowcase and breathe

I murmur the nonsense that no one hears

Clenched fist vernacular preys upon fears
