The Beginning

The Beginning

A Poem by Ash Sixx

I clutch onto what
I cannot relinquish
I'm merely pretending that I'm
adorned with things I can't hide.

The glint in your
soft, chilling blue
eyes sends shivers
down my spine.

Your dazzling beauty
is almost madding, so I
look away, and hope you don't catch me,
desperately staring.

I feel a sensuous impulse
when I'm found in your
presence, but also
misery and sorrow.

Knowing, that I can
never be yours. I feel
broken, I weep, these feelings
blossoming and scattering.

The pain, feels
like pleasure, so at
this rate I can't
possibly let this end, can I?

However many times
I feel I'm about to drop dead
or fall into ruin, there is no end.
Only the beginning.

Your writing style is great, I like the way the poem ended, leaving room for more but leaving you satisfied with what's there. Punctuation could be improved, with a few commas unneeded and a period or two that could be replaced with a comma. Though maybe that isn't the case, overall this poem is a great read, so keep going!

Very visual. It's refreshing to see a poem without forced, cheesy rhyming patterns for once, which in my opinion works much much better.
