Roommate

Roommate

A Poem by Arpita

I met  with a girl in the hostel,

There were we after leaving our nestle.

We were different with nothing same,

But were the players of common game.

She was beautiful and compassionate,

Later she became my room-mate.

Spent the nights and days together,

she caught cold in all weather.

Whenever I cried, she wiped my tears,

She was the one drove away my fear.

During my illness, she took care me like her baby,

Loved and scolded me like my daddy.

She was mature but child at heart,

She was blunt but sweet as tart.

We fought, cried and mend our ways,

Those were for me harder days.

Without her world cannot be seen,

She was the reason I found a girl in me.

You were there when I was in need,

Now there is no one even when I bleed.

May the destiny make us to meet again,

We share our worries and will dance in the rain

~Arpita.
