The Magician

The Magician

A Poem by Annis Saniee

I watched as the others
Reared their instruments,

And I, too,
With silent strings,
To await my conductor.

This brief offering can be seen as either a random moment captured or a spiritual statement. The silent strings may represent a surrender of the individual will to that of the Universal, which may be the conductor of the final line. If this is the case, the work is a fine example of the use of everyday life as a symbol of the Sacred.
