Dead as air

Dead as air

A Poem by Ender
"

wishes, promises, dreams, goals, plans... all of these can be just as dead as air.

"
Ashes to ashes
and dust to proverbial dust -
my wishes went - as this.

Horrid was the shaking
and spinning of my - mind -
too rub my eyes of wetness,
from delirium's dilemma.

Dust filled my vision.
Air it had something -
shallow stagnation -
cupping my eyes with hands...,
..., I wanted it all to stop.

Ubiquitous air, you were the one!
The many ones, disappointing let downs, following
many more - too laughing - always,
amassed with nothing, but to hear...,
". . ."

Ashes to ashes
and dust to proverbial dust -
my wishes went as this - too once
longed and not forgotten,
too be felt but not there,
too be once alive but not real,
too be breathing but now. . . dead
as air.
