My closet

My closet

A Poem by Ender
"

My friend Rj: You don't need a building, a high official in theology, or to travel anywhere; you just need to go into your closet. (he inspired me)

"
Gray of tone, my confession fell
- flat as anvils.
- - I wrapped my body with long raptures.

Lonesome and solemn as shade,
- tempting was my closet,
- - to say my secrets out loud; in whispers.

I never thought a room
- tight in four corners,
- - was so, contenting to relieve the pain?
- - - To sing in secrecy, my grievance welled forth.
- - My mind searched for words, but only drew feelings
- cold & hot feelings - in dew drops running down pale skin.
I never thought a closet can do this.

All I need was coverage.
- It was no shame,
- - it was no sin of passed wrongs,
- - - nor a lack of anything life sustaining,
- - just solitude.
- A sanctuary for the weak:
all I needed was to pray in my closet.
