Rear-view mirror

A Poem by Ender
"

How a parent must feel when they leave their children behind- this is my own experience- I was the child crying in the distance... I hope my dad reads this one day.

"
Why am I so haunting?
- Is it my borrowing silver flash of light,
- - is it my hovering,
- - - or is it my reflection - of your child -
crying in the distance?

A life savor I am, but too deadly to stare to
long.
- An oxymoron maybe, but still a sobering tool.
Any way you maneuver me,
- swerve me,
- - turn me,
- - - or curve me,
I will still show the same reflection.

The image will get smaller if
- you would travel down the gravel drive way,
- - but the sounds of pebbles - give more power to
my stab - as a fissure deep in memories.

So turn your wheel, and try to drive away
- your feelings.
- - But you can't?
Knowing your child is in your rear view mirror!
