Does she?

Does she?

A Poem by Azure Montessa (Blue)
"

10/25/13

"

I heard you're dating someone

a girl just caught your eye

Tell me about this new love

the cause of your "Goodbye".

Does she greet you good morning

with breakfast in your bed?

Does she know your fav'rite songs

and sing them in her head?

Does she kiss you 'til you're breathless

and treat you like a prince?

Does she keep all your love letters,

not throwing them in bins?

Does she sing in the shower

and waltz on the floor?

Does she fix your black necktie

and wave bye from the door?

Does she pack up your lunch

a sandwich with a note?

Does she send you thoughtful texts

an "I love you" and a quote?

Does she understand your hobbies

the cigars and the games?

Does she also love your friends

the quirks behind the names?

Does she miss you when you're gone

and wait 'til you're back?

Does she offer better things

all the things that I lack?

Does she love you like I did

or does she love you even more?

And baby, does she even know

she has all I'm wishing for?

The old adage comes to mind here "we can't choose who we fall in love with."

Awwwe....I just kept thinking that as I read this. Your poems are always so honest and full of emotion, it was endearing to read.

You're really good at rhymes. The contents define the cover pic. This will make a good song. =D

Thank you!
This is really beautifully written and so universal. I don't really know how to say all I would like to about it. I know the difficulty of fitting all these lines together so well and also keeping to a theme everyone can understand. You make it look easy! I am jealous. And you say you don't normally rhyme? Maybe I misunderstood that and should read more of your poetry. All I know is that this is a classic. Terrific workmanship. This is cobbled together by a master. If this really is a true story, and not just invented for the art, he doesn't know what he is missing...and since you do, you should celebrate.

You put a lot of emotions into your poetry. This emotion is reflected to the readers to help them understand it. I think this is a sign of poetry from the heart and soul of a person. Not something just placed on paper for people to read. I think you enjoy writing it and it shows, Very well stated.

This has a very sad and wistful feeling which fits perfectly to the intent of the poem. This also reminded me of a song I had heard decades ago, so much so that I had to go look it up. Not that you're even close to copying - you aren't. Some things just remain true no matter what generation it is.

If you're curious, check out the 1982 album "Just Sylvia", and listen to the 1st track, "Nobody". I think you'll appreciate it.
