Goddess of the Moon

Goddess of the Moon

A Poem by Azure Montessa (Blue)
"

My sentiments as I watched the moon one night.

"
Goddess of the moon
Reigning in the starless night
Where is the crown
That your mystic beauty demands?
As you swim in the sea of clouds,
Sweep the world in solemn silence
And overwhelm my senses in greyscale...

Goddess of the moon
In deadly shade of melancholy,
I pour out my sentiments to you.
Cast a spell on me, a poet
Enchant my fingertips
And move my heart and my pen
That my words may pierce a lover's soul...

Goddess of the moon
Watch over him tonight
As he lies on his bed (or hers).
Give him dreams of love
Or memories of me
That he will never forget
The scars that brought me here to you...

Goddess of the moon
Sole witness to my tears
Lull me to slumber.
And as I sleep my thoughts away,
I wish to wake up in your embrace...

Azure Montessa (Blue)
This is the first time the goddess of the moon compelled me to write about her. I hope you enjoy reading this, as much as I enjoy watching her beauty. :x

There's a soft sensuality to this one Blue, a bittersweet longing in the undertones. I don't feel the (or hers) is necessary, whoever reads this will make it their own... A stunning read, brava!

The greatest sign of love we can ever show for someone is to wish them well in their life, wherever and whomever they may be with. Goddess of the Moon, keeper of secrets and dreams.

What a lovely sentiment, Blue. :)

The moon makes an interesting topic of poetry. Glad you like this, Rose. :x
Blue this is a gorgeous piece of poetry. Those wonderful images are so real and it appears the moon may be your muse tonight. That picture is pefect for the poem, what a visual treat.

My pleasure, more in your bio please. Love to know you better.
This is absolutely beautiful, so soft and sensual with a bit of sadness found at the closing. This poem right here is pure magic. Very nicely done.

It is mind blowing. It is something to be proud of. I know what it is like to be compelled to write something.

Thanks a lot, Donald. Yes, an inspiration compelling us to write should never be ignored. :x
I liked the feel and the plead in the liens of this verse...I would blend in my personal opinion the stanzas and give the repeating line itself a separate from the rest...add a bit of impact and still give much to the reader with this narrative:

Oh, Goddess of the Moon...

Reigning in the starless night
Where is the crown
That your mystic beauty demands?
As you swim in the sea of clouds,
Sweep the world in solemn silence
And overwhelm my senses in greyscale...

In deadly shade of melancholy,
I pour out my sentiments to you.
Cast a spell on me, a poet
Enchant my fingertips
And move my heart and my pen
That my words may pierce a lover's soul...

Oh, Goddess of the Moon...

Watch over him tonight
As he lie on his bed (or hers).
Give him dreams of love
Or memories of me
That he will never forget
The scars that brought me here to you...

Sole witness to my tears
Lull me to slumber.
And as I sleep my thoughts away,
I wish to wake up in your embrace...

Oh, Goddess of the Moon...
