Goddess of the Moon

Goddess of the Moon

A Poem by Azure Montessa (Blue)
"

My sentiments as I watched the moon one night.

"
Goddess of the moon
Reigning in the starless night
Where is the crown
That your mystic beauty demands?
As you swim in the sea of clouds,
Sweep the world in solemn silence
And overwhelm my senses in greyscale...

Goddess of the moon
In deadly shade of melancholy,
I pour out my sentiments to you.
Cast a spell on me, a poet
Enchant my fingertips
And move my heart and my pen
That my words may pierce a lover's soul...

Goddess of the moon
Watch over him tonight
As he lies on his bed (or hers).
Give him dreams of love
Or memories of me
That he will never forget
The scars that brought me here to you...

Goddess of the moon
Sole witness to my tears
Lull me to slumber.
And as I sleep my thoughts away,
I wish to wake up in your embrace...

This is the first time the goddess of the moon compelled me to write about her. I hope you enjoy reading this, as much as I enjoy watching her beauty. :x

Beautiful ode to the moon, Blue.

As you swim in the sea of clouds,
Sweep the world in solemn silence

Great imagery and alliteration here.

Alliteration is such an interesting thing. Thanks, Rita! :x
The Moon watches over broken hearts. I don't think she really cares, but she watches anyway.

Haha. Yesss, Mark. Thanks for this! :x
A September moon all aglow in a sky of amethyst - what could be more romantic. Your poem is bittersweet and beautiful and has the romance I look for in classic poetry. Lovely my friend. :) Julie

Such a heartwarming review, Julie. Thanks a lot! :x
This is definitely great but one line above all stands out when you read it; "As he lie on his bed (or hers)" is such a powerful part of this poem. Those are the kind of lines that really hammer home a point to a reader and give your work a life of their own. Thanks for the read request on this one; into the library it goes. :)

This is very lovely, sadly romantic. The moon inspires beautiful and lonely thoughts in all of us, I think and you have a way of expressing those thoughts in a way that really speaks to and moves me. Wonderful, thank you for sharing.
