Goddess of the Moon

Goddess of the Moon

A Poem by Azure Montessa (Blue)
"

My sentiments as I watched the moon one night.

"
Goddess of the moon
Reigning in the starless night
Where is the crown
That your mystic beauty demands?
As you swim in the sea of clouds,
Sweep the world in solemn silence
And overwhelm my senses in greyscale...

Goddess of the moon
In deadly shade of melancholy,
I pour out my sentiments to you.
Cast a spell on me, a poet
Enchant my fingertips
And move my heart and my pen
That my words may pierce a lover's soul...

Goddess of the moon
Watch over him tonight
As he lies on his bed (or hers).
Give him dreams of love
Or memories of me
That he will never forget
The scars that brought me here to you...

Goddess of the moon
Sole witness to my tears
Lull me to slumber.
And as I sleep my thoughts away,
I wish to wake up in your embrace...

This is the first time the goddess of the moon compelled me to write about her. I hope you enjoy reading this, as much as I enjoy watching her beauty. :x

Ah, this is really beautiful. I like poems about the Moon. Your poem inspire me to use your first line and some of your ideas to write this gift poem for your which you may keep as your own: It’s a tiny song:

Selene

Goddess of the Moon,
crescent lady of the night
blue and white stars strewn
all around your amber might
shall embrace you soon
crowning you with twinkling light.
Meteors shall swoon
nearby as they each ignite.

Thanks, Sabrina. Moon is always interesting. :x
I do believe there are a few in the words of Neko Case who 'wish [they] were the moon tonight. What a fabulous romantic write.

Thanks, Plume. :x
This describes quite well the feeling that I have when I stare out into a moonlit night an quietly reflect. No matter how you call or name it, the moon has its own attractions for so many people. This poem is one that I think a great deal of readers could relate to, one way or the other. Nicely done.

This was a wonderful poem to the Goddess. I feel it is how she would love everyone to talk to her...:)

Wow, that's something. Thank you so much! :x
I think you have a nice talk with Selene, the goddess of the moon. It's shown here that you are a compassionate person, knowing that you are asking the goddess to watch over someone special to you.

Thanks for this pensive concept, Blue.

BTW, I really love the moon in its full phase. I like the image used here. :)
