The Ganges

The Ganges

A Poem by Anshuman Aryav

The Ganges

Once again someone is writing for me,
Once again someone is fighting for me.
Through a paper and a pen,
He is going to reveal my pain.
But I know after few days,
Time will ruin this creation.
And people will forget me,
And my painful emotion.
I don't have eye,
But still I cry.
Everyday and every time,
You came to me,
After the sin, after the crime.
You perform penance for the expiation of sin,
By just taking bath in my mighty stream.
I have no border I have no line.
I am sacred...I am divine.
My journey is full of tears,
But you can't see it,
Because you don't care.
I am your nature, I am your future,
Please help me now, I am in danger.
I give you everything...I am a giver,
I am the Ganges...your holy river.
I am the Ganges...your holy river.

I am astonished and anmazed by the poem, I like the way you talked in the first person, it's more like I was hearing the cry and anger of Ganges. You win the heart. Those who take care of others are often ignored and taken for granted, that is with this mighty river. Now, it has become a place where people can go to perform their sacred rites and don't bother even to look the river. Say a word against all those rites that pollute the river, you are supressed.
Keep writing, you are amazing in composing words that force people to look between the words and ponder over it.
Great job. Excellent piece of writing!

Thanks....
I was drawn to click on this piece becuz I knew the Ganges was sacred & I wanted to see what a native person would say to honor your mighty & well-known river. You’ve definitely expressed this well, with so many true-to-life feelings. I love the way you personify the river, making it the narrator of your poem. That’s so inspiring, now I want to try that . . . using some favorite aspect of nature to be sending a message to me. This line: “But I know after a few days . . . “ – this is how I feel about my own poetry, forgotten after a few days. It’s just a moment in time when we try to get the words just right. I don’t think that’s a bad thing . . . it’s just the way life goes with all of us . . . we are forgettable & that’s fine. Very thought-provoking tribute to your holy river (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Hmm....Now this comes out as a pain of a holy river!!
The more we protest to make it safe , a section of people are pushing it towards destruction the most......
Oh, how painful that day will be when they'll realise they've strangled their outer heart, The Ganga.......
Thanks for sharing this inspiring Aryav😊

Excellent 👏👏👏💯. The first few lines are superb- its a truth that even though the Indian government, environmentalist and writer's (using paper and pen) are fighting to save our holy river but the pain of The Ganges is soon forgotten.

thank you so much.I am glad that you liked it..
The desire to have the person in your life answer the call when life asks for it is all too real to reveal. Just another item to add to the list of diappojntment when they hurt you in the end. The won't ever feel and they won't understand. It's not their fault, they were never playong the game to begin with. Nice piece! i loved it!

It is so beautiful, the creativity I can feel it, the pain I can feel it! I think this is my favorite poem by you.
