A Home In Your Heart

A Poem by Adelia Alighieri

This was a tough concept for me to write on. But here it goes..

I found a home in the city of your heart,

A garden of roses, a fountain of splendor;

I found a place in the warmth of your dreams,

An abode beyond love's tender.

A gateway to the seventh heaven,

Within my reach;

Like the enchantment of a prayer,

None can preach.

Like the strum of a string,

The poignancy of a fall;

The magic of a miracle,

An eagle's squall.

When you were lost in the labyrinth,

I built a home where you never can;

And they sang to you all along,

A woman just became a better man.

It's you, love just came your way,

Come sit here in front of me;

While you wonder who owns your heart,

Let me stare at you for eternity.

Just came over to tell you I love your name. Now, I find out it's a pseudonym. Although--and I'm sure you've heard this before--your actual name sounds like the pseudonym.
Well, even though "Adelia Aligieri" is a phony, you did have the good taste to choose it--I guess that counts for something.
By the way, your poem is unbelievably lovely and staggeringly good--especially for a mere lass to have written.
