Running Away

A Poem by Arup Pani

A coward, a failure, an ungrateful son. 

A liar, a cheater, I am every one.

The wound was there ever since I was young

Could have helped it, but instead I went and tainted my lungs.


I took your love, your time and returned you with debt

Please forgive me, I hope that you’re not too upset.


I am a skilled mechanic playing with potters clay

Invited to join but It seems I have prolonged my stay.


Where are you off to now? are you running away? 

I don’t think so, i’m just simply starting my day.

Have you lost it, don't you know you’re throwing it all away!

Sadly, My dream left an hour ago. I’m already late.
