hopeless dreamsA Poem by Arun DhanasekaranA poem through the words of a repressed. All I am left with Is a dream -- A dream shared by Many a Hopeless dreamers Like me. 'Tis a dream where We still get killed, But not for that crime Of being born Darker than our neighbors. 'Tis a dream where Those rich still get richer. But now, they do so realizing We've made them What they've become. 'Tis that dream where Our women still get spoiled. Only this time, they will be Spoiled in pure love This world had denied them so far. 'Tis a dream where Our children still won't get a job, But this time, They will not be looked down Even by those who stole jobs from them. And 'tis that dream Where our heart still trepidiates At the mere thought of death. But now, we know for sure That we fear Not of dying, But of leaving a near-perfect world. -- Arun Dhanasekaran © 2013 Arun DhanasekaranAuthor's Note
