Reluctant ParasiteA Poem by Aruna IyerA
parasite, I know no shame It’s
who I am….destined to A
life of emotional beggary I
cling on to you, your soul and Your
words… I
suffer the time you take to Let
me in. To let me be. I
wait with feigned patience For
sustenance. I
want to leave you. But I’d die And
you’d not care because I
am beneath your ground….on soil You
left all those minutes ago To
rise tall in a new world With
no reasons to look beyond The
self. © 2012 Aruna Iyer |
