Vitality of a Leaf

Vitality of a Leaf

A Poem by Briana O'Connor
"

answer to leaf challenge

"

In the wind they fly without destination,

Dancing with a spirit so free and simplistic.

Resting on grasslands and cobblestone paths,

Piling like hilltops of kaleidoscopic shades.

Beaming tones of auburn, glistening with gold,

They showcase a rainbow of colors so pure.

Their texture spreads music beneath wandering feet,

Crunching with a pulse to the drumming of a snare.

These beauties of nature, so careless to troubles,

Falling from trees with new journeys each moment.

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm meditations on a falling leaf ...nice ;) i live in a forest of red and white oak, ponderosa pines and red cedars ... the leaves pile up high ..the other day i happened upon a lowly armadillo snuffling thorough those leaves ... completely at ease with my presence (i actually got close enough to scratch is armored plating) you poem just re-reminded me of him... :)

I thought this was a lovely poem. I've always found autumn and the falling leaves inspiring.

Beautiful poem dear Poet.
"These beauties of nature, so careless to troubles,
Falling from trees with new journeys each moment."
I love the Fall. The leave change of color are lessons. Everything must die and know rebirth. I liked your description. Create good visions and thoughts. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

You are welcome.
Your descriptive imagery is as beautiful as the fall leaves themselves. A lovely reminisce for me as I try to get through this seemingly never-ending NY winter. Enjoyed!

I never thought of leaves as free, but I guess they are more free than you and I.

I used to feel bad for the leaves. I used to see them sadly when in autumn they would fall. It was like they were scattered dry and left to wonder the reason for it all. But slowly I realized that nobody was to blame for this. Seasons change, and we grow with them. Amazingly written. Reminded me of my innocent days.
