The Entity That Binds

The Entity That Binds

A Poem by Briana O'Connor
"

"I Can't Say Challenge" This challenge was about describing bricks without using the words brick or block.

"

Gradient,

Radiant in the light

Of the moon and the sun.

These rectangular cubes,

They form this edifice with perfection.

I run my finger across its surface

Enjoying the texture on my skin:

Deeply red

Contrasting the seal

That binds them.

I gaze at the beauty,

The structure of solidity.

No man can conquer this form

Without machine.

I marvel at this creation,

This bond of homes and buildings,

In which each being relies.

Don't think I can ever look at bricks as just objects again... yes the line "I run my finger across its surface
Enjoying the texture on my skin: makes this poem special in my opinion. I saw bricks cheering as I read.. "Briana wrote a poem about us" they said. And I say, thanks for sharing.. it's a nice poem

lol. what a great perception. I love the concept of anything cheering for me :p
I read the descriptino - thought you did a fine job. Really liked the bit about running your finger across the surface, the texture and "deeply red"
Nicely penned.

Very well done Briana, I think you got this challenge beat, loved it from the first lines, lovely rhyming and expressed the subject easily without actually mentioning br.cks lol
