Thea

Thea

A Poem by Briana O'Connor
"

This is a poem I wrote about the little girl I lost when I was a teenager.

"

On every thirtieth of May,

I send a prayer to God.

I ask him to give Thea,

A birthday hug from mom.

I try to picture her face today,

Smiling down on me...

With innocent eyes

Of a seven year old,

Protecting her mommy,

Until the day we can meet.

I hope that the days get easier for you

overcome when one losses a child.

What can we say of beauty when it reaches the apex of sweetness? Sympathy for your loss, praise for your soul.

When my second daughter was born on Valentines Day, we lost her twin sister. So I know how you must fell on that day every year, or at least to some extent. This is very touching. I am sure your little girl has received many, many hugs from God.

You are very welcome.
Several years ago, I lost a cousin to cancer at age six...I would never make a claim to know how someone feels under these kinds of circumstances because everyone's experience is different and we can never truly understand how another person is feeling, but I can definitely relate...I don't have the words to articulate how hard this one hit me except to say that it left me with damp eyes...painfully beautiful...you've certainly captured this reader's heart and tears with this one.
