Thieves of the Night

Thieves of the Night

A Poem by Briana O'Connor
"

An attempt at a kids poem/nursery rhyme.

"

Pixies hide amongst the mist,

For none shall know that they exist.

They patiently wait till all is still.

Then they frolic towards the hill,

Burrowing to their underground mill.

A place where their kind can dance quite freely,

And plan adventures quite mischievously.

Above the underground they tread at night,

Always prepared for a sudden flight.

When all is clear they steal gleaming treasures,

Loading their carriage in tremendous measures.

They trollop through the night and then flee away,

Not to be seen in the light of day.

Safe in their haven they pile their score,

Plotting the next day to thieve more and more.

Love this, there's so much seriousness (if that's even a word) in the world so its nice to read something more innocent and childlike every once in a while :) and this is definitely worthy of nursery rhyme status :)

I always liked stories on pixies and fairies which may be odd since I'm a male, but they just appeal to me how can you not just love cute little creatures causing mischief. You did good job on this poem it's really good I could visualize myself in the secret little world of these little creatures. Also love the picture

I like it, although a pixie friend of mine might take offense. I have to come to her defense, she does feed me strawberries, while we wander in a garden under the moon's light.
