Contest ConformityA Poem by Briana O'ConnorRise up! Be free! Don't fall victim to society's idea of normalcy!Assemblage of the jury, here I stand before you, brooding on the ineffable, awaiting your execration, cogitating my next move. I’m proudly positioned before thee, as an array of what is me. I shall not bow before you, nor reason, bend or break. I’ll risk my own demise, before conformity. Revolt, I say! Rise up, be free. May your souls be rid of bigotry. To blackened hearts, I grant you paint. Let sunshine rain, may words flow unbound. One mustn't be abstemious. Robotic enslavement awaits you. Hypnosis will clutch your mind. A prison will surround us all. We must stand up and contest. Rebellion is my choosing, whether by infantry, or an army of just me. Protest I must, protect I will. Fight for the oblivious, and demolish the close minded fools.
