Embers of Anger

I wrote this for a poetry class. One of my favorites.

 

Motions of forgiveness, again,

has passed by this moment,

leaving embers of anger

nestled in our emotions,

feeding us lifeless thoughts.

 

Humble expressions of love, yet again,

slipped through moment’s fingers,

leaving embers of anger

spreading through our emotions,

forcing hollow thoughts.

 

Kind touches of desire, once again,

missed the moment’s call,

sparking those embers of anger

igniting those hurt emotions,

leaving jagged thoughts in our hearts.
